Earth Day 2026 – Recap

Program

April 2026

Chinatown BID is so grateful to celebrate our annual inspiring Earth Day with our amazing community partners 🌱🎶

A special thank you to @global_harmony_allies from @solsharpmusic for their continued volunteer service—this marks their third year planting and performing with us! Your dedication brings energy, creativity, and care to our neighborhood.

As a proud local partner of @nyc_dot Open Streets, Chinatown BID works alongside volunteers to help beautify our shared spaces—from Columbus Park to SDR Park to Kimlau Square. This year, with support from @nycparks, the team helped enhance Columbus Park along Mulberry Street 🌿 We’re also thankful for the contributions from staff at @50bowery and @easternbookstore, whose efforts made the planting day even more impactful.

In the afternoon, solsharpmusic students brought the streets to life with their pop-up performance “Peace Love Prayer” at Pell & Doyers—featuring electronic piano, vocals, and even a Taichi and martial arts workshop. Special shoutout to our local organizations @nycs_1909 and @easternbookstore for sharing resources and engage with audiences through fun earth-day themed activities.

Thank you to everyone who continues to show up for Chinatown—your care keeps our community vibrant 💚
