Meanwhile, in an effort to manage the influx, applicants are now asked to call based on the first letter of their last names, as follows:
Monday, names starting with A – F.
Tuesday, names beginning G – N.
Wednesday, last names with initials O – Z.
If you miss your day, you can also file on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Any claim filed will be back-dated to the date the filer became unemployed, NOT the date of filing. AAFE Emergency Small Business Relief Loan Fund
Renaissance has created an Emergency Small Business Relief Loan Fund to help businesses struggling to survive during the COVID-19 crisis.
Up to 30,000 eligible small businesses in more than 30 countries where we operate will be able to receive the grant. To be eligible to apply, you must:
- Have between 2 and 50 employees
- Have been in business for over a year
- Have experienced challenges from COVID-19
- Be in or near a location where Facebook operates
Open to New York State companies seeking financing to create or expand direct exports, or to serve as suppliers to larger exporters. Loans are available to purchase equipment, inventory, working capital to support foreign accounts receivable, export lines or credit, or long-term financing.
GoFundMe.org, the charitable and advocacy arm of GoFundMe, started the Small Business Relief Fund to benefit small businesses. Supporters can donate to the Small Business Relief Fund, which will issue $500 matching grants to qualifying businesses that raise at least $500 on GoFundMe.
Hello Alice is offering $10,000 grants being distributed immediately to small business owners impacted by coronavirus, as part of our broader mission to ensure Business for All. In addition to funding, grant recipients will receive ongoing support from the Hello Alice community.
Immigrants may be eligible to receive a $500 grant to help cover whatever is most pressing in their lives.
Kiva is a non-profit that expands access to capital for entrepreneurs around the world – up to $15,000 at 0% interest.
The NYC Small Business Emergency Grant Program provides grants of up to $10,000 to small businesses that have suffered physical damage as result of recent looting.
New economic recovery loan program aimed at supporting New York State small businesses, nonprofits and small landlords as they reopen after the COVID-19 outbreak and NYS on PAUSE. The NYFLF targets the state’s small businesses with 20 or fewer full-time equivalent (FTE) employees (90% of all businesses), nonprofits and small landlords that have seen a loss of rental income. The NYFLF is specifically timed to support businesses and organizations as they proceed to reopen and have upfront expenses to comply with guidelines (e.g., inventory, marketing, refitting for new social distancing guidelines) under the New York Forward Plan.
Priority will be given to industries that have been reopened. This is not a first-come, first-served loan program. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as regions and industries reopen.
Opportunity Fund offers simple and affordable loans for business owners who may not qualify for traditional financing. You may qualify for between $2,600 to $250,000, depending on the type of loan.
The program will provide restaurants with short term payroll support now, funding subsidized wages to employ displaced restaurant workers who will prepare meals (including some free) for their communities. Under the RR Program, participating restaurants will be eligible for funding up to $30,000 each, to be used to pay wages of $20/hour to subsidized employees for at least six weeks. (Decisions will be made on June 22, 2020)
Salesforce is partnering with Ureeka to offer eligible small businesses the opportunity to receive a $10,000 grant to help them through the COVID-19 outbreak.
If you have an existing brick & mortar business that has been negatively effected by the COVID-19 outbreak and you launch a capital raise on Mainvest, you may be eligible to receive a $2,000 zero-interest loan immediately. Then through your capital raise, you can receive up to $250,000 of investment from your community.
The Spanx by Sara Blakely Foundation donated $5 million to support female entrepreneurs in the wake of COVID-19 and teamed up with GlobalGiving to establish The Red Backpack Fund. GlobalGiving will be overseeing the fund, making at least 1,000 grants of $5,000 each to female entrepreneurs in the U.S. to help alleviate the immediate needs and support the long-term recovery of those impacted by this crisis.
A new program by Hennessy that provides immediate relief and long-term support to Black, Asian, and Latinx small-business owners. Applications open June 22 to July 1, 2020.

Support of Non-Profits
The Fund is accepting applications from organizations on a rolling basis for immediate response grants in the following priority areas:
- Serves vulnerable populations including low-income children and families, low-wage workers, individuals and families who are homeless and immigrant communities.
- Provides or will expand services to include emergency assistance (e.g. food, shelter, and other basic needs)
- At risk for gaps in government contracts due to interruption of services
- Incurred unexpected expenses (e.g. overtime pay, technology)
- Track record with administering emergency cash grants to individuals and families
The Brooklyn COVID-19 Response Fund will operate in alignment with the Brooklyn Community Foundation’s racial justice lens, which prioritizes support for nonprofits that work towards racial equity, are led by members of affected communities, and center the voices of those directly impacted by structural racism in decision-making.
COVID-19 and Human Rights (Hate Crimes)
If you have faced harassment or discrimination in housing, at work, or in any public place, contact the NYC Commission on Human Rights by filling out the online form or by calling 311 and asking for “human rights.” If you are a victim of or witness a hate crime, call 911.
The New York State Attorney General urges those experiencing hate crimes and bias incidences to report them by emailing the Attorney General’s Civil Rights Bureau at firstname.lastname@example.org, or calling 1-800-771-7755.
Locally, you may also report your incident to AAF ANTI-ASIAN BIAS REPORTING FORM created by Asian American Federation. This form is designed to help individuals in the tri-state area report how they have experienced hate and/or discrimination. This incident report form is made to track down hate crimes and civil violations, as well as physical threats and verbal assaults. All personal information will be kept confidential unless we explicitly receive permission from the individual.
Nationally, you may also report your incident to Stop AAPI Hate created by Asian Pacific Policy and Planning Council (A3PCON) and Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA) to allow community members to report incidents of hate they have experienced. Individual information, including personal identification details, will be kept confidential and will only be shared with permission. In the aggregate, the information will be used for assistance, advocacy and education.
