2022 Sweethearts Shop Local

For the second straight year, neighborhood organizations representing New York City’s five boroughs, have joined forces to deliver messages of love and support to small businesses throughout the city – all in time for Valentine’s Day, February 14. Locations differ, but the message is the same: Shop local; Call direct for delivery; Leave a positive review; Give a shout out on social media; and do Takeout Tuesdays.

“New Yorkers and visitors alike are invited to come visit Chinatown not only for your Valentine’s Day, but also to celebrate the Lunar New Year Lantern Festival with us, on February 15th,” said Chinatown BID Executive Director, Wellington Chen. “Commemorating a time when villagers in Hunan worked together, lighting lanterns at every doorway, we, too, can send a message to everyone about our resilient small business community. Join the Chinatown BID as we celebrate Lunar New Year with our #SmallBusinessSweetie neighbors who work hard every day to get us through this pandemic, and enjoy delicious traditional sweets during this holiday season!”
